Creative Brief

Using PHP and MySQL build a web site for a local photographer to enable them to display and update their work on-line.

The site should have the ability for the photographer to do the following:

  • Log in and out.
  • Upload their own photographs;
  • Remove photographs from the site;
  • Display the photographs on both a thumbnail and larger scale;
  • Photographs should have reasonable protection to ensure photographers copyright is maintained;
  • Receive feedback from potential viewers of the site.

Technical Guidelines

  • The web site should also have validated XHTML and CSS;
  • Technologies such as Javascript can also be used to provide enhancements to the web site.

Deliverables

  • A4 Crib Sheet showing uses of PHP and MySQL;
  • A web site showing learning of PHP;
  • Weekly journal posts;
  • Final 1000 [±10%] reflective summary.

Photographer Website

  • Developmental sketch work
  • Client ready pre-production devices:
    • screen designs for home page, form page and upload page;
    • site structure diagram including file naming structures;
    • an assets list;
  • The web site uploaded to my web space with link from a8 home page;
  • Merit and distinction evidence as specified.

Submission

  • Paperwork ready for submission in to arch file;
  • Digital work – saved as PDF – on structured and labelled CD-R;
  • The web site copied to your CD-R
  • Final 1000 [±10%] reflective summary.
